But it begs the question of just where the pressure came from to force me to remove what was already an image in the public domain having been previously used in a Marketplace article some time ago. Did Angry John complain to the Waiheke Marketplace to have the image removed, or did Marketplace editor George Gardner act on her own initiative to contact Head Office?
This is the first time any mainstream media (MSM) has used threats against my blog. I suppose I should be flattered by the MSM attention. It’s a sure indication that they’re running scared. The usual practice of local media is simply not to acknowledge my existence, but I guess they now realise that with average daily readership of around 2000 with a following nationally as well as locally my blog has more traction than either local paper.
The public is increasingly turning to independent, knowledgable, sources of information provided by social media, especially when it comes to Council matters.
George Garner simply doesn’t understand Council issues so she whitewashes the antics of the Board. Bless her heart, she doesn’t even have the nous to understand that threatening alternative media opens her to scrutiny in a far more telling manner than before, which is perhaps why she gets her paper into so much trouble.
Anyway, here is a picture of Angry John that says even more about him than the last.
