When the letter signed May is handed to the EU Council president Donald Tusk tomorrow by the British ambassador to the EU, Sir Tim Barrow, it will begin formal divorce proceedings as the United Kingdom negotiates its exit from the European Union.
Many have sought to delay or stop the Brexit process following a victory for the ‘Leave’ campaigners in last year’s referendum on 23 June last year. Since then establishment elites, from the House of Lords to the BBC, have done their best to deny the wishes of the British people. This has not gone down well. Their interference against the will of the people has triggered a backlash of its own. There are calls for a reform of the House of Lords and for the BBC licence fee to be abolished. There is every possibility that both will happen in the next few years.
In the United States Trump’s reform of energy regulations is the beginning of the end of the climate change religion. This disgraceful pseudo-science cult has damaged the reputation of science and cost thousands of jobs in the US. Globally the religion has trapped the developing world in unnecessary poverty. At the same time it has enriched its gurus in ‘Green’ politics and ‘Big Green’ business in the US and Europe.
The money to support Big Green has largely come from US government subsidies and funding. Trump has already moved swiftly to stop funding the pseudo-science ‘climate’ fraudsters in the universities and government agencies. At the same time he has given the go-ahead to cheap energy production from fossil fuels that will create jobs, reduce costs across the whole economy, and stop people dying from fuel poverty created by the ultra expensive ‘renewables’.
All in all, it has been a day to rejoice. No wonder I feel trigger happy.
