This time he's unmasked Auckland Transport who are planning to set up a bike market.
WHY IS LEN BROWN’S COUNCIL SETTING UP A BIKE MARKET?

You really do have to wonder at Len Brown’s Auckland Council.
It seems if they aren’t trying to control where you spread your ashes of loved ones and charge you for the privilege, they are trying to undermine Auckland’s bike retailers by setting up their own bike market.
I’m not kidding…look at this email:
I was wondering if you are interested in being involved in our Bike Market?
We will be running a trial ‘Bike Market’ event in Auckland. At the event the public will have access to inexpensive bikes for sale (under $500 ONLY) and free bike mechanics will be on hand to tell them of any potential issues or hazards.
And talking of hair brained schemes, I’ve been told that there are local board members who thought it a good idea to go on a junket to find out more about cycling solutions. If I were living in central Auckland I wouldn’t be happy to find out that the Green, cycling fanatic, members of my Board have used my hard earned rates to go on an overseas trip at my expense, aided and abetted by a first time Councillor from the north shore.
There’s scarce enough money for local boards to do good in their own communities without Waitemata Local Board members Pippa Coom and Chris Dempsey wasting ratepayers money by taking a trip to Adelaide to improve their knowledge of cycling solutions. Their role is as advocates not decision makers.
Isn’t it typical that it’s the Green party members who are so befuddled by their sanctimonious belief in their own righteousness that they don’t even consider their carbon footprint and the damage they do to the environment by this one selfish act. And who knows what Councillor Chris Darby is getting out of the exercise. He’s in danger of being regarded as a self-serving, ambitious politician with delusions of grandeur.
