You’re paying for it
Have you got your invite?
As a Waiheke ratepayer have you received one of these?
You are invited to ‘Get on Board!’
The Hauraki Gulf is a magical place to live, work and play and we all need to share responsibility in ensuring it remains so.
Get on board a vessel tour of the inner Gulf and Islands along with elected representatives, mana whenua, scientists, community and residents groups, business and property stakeholders, students and teachers from the island’s three schools and many more.
Come along to hear more about exciting environmental and other work programmes and discuss how your valuable input might help make our islands world class!
We are seeking to grow awareness of key issues and opportunities within the Hauraki Gulf, fostering outcomes for both the environment and the community through partnership, action and policy.
The trip is hosted by the Waiheke Local Board and there will be a range of presentations aboard our Fullers ferry charter relating to the Gulf and Islands ranging from island restoration (reforestation, animal and plant pest management, interpretation, historic heritage), stormwater and sedimentation, Bryde’s whales, our special reptilian geckos, ecotourism, education, recreation and more. We are looking to have stopovers at Rakino, Motuihe and Rotoroa Islands.
This is a timely opportunity with the development of the Hauraki Gulf Marine Spatial Plan and Waiheke Local Board Plan.
Looking forward to seeing you on the day,

On Behalf of Waiheke Local Board
With the national elections later this year, a captive audience and Green Party agenda, are we hapless ratepayers funding a floating election campaign?
If you haven’t received your invitation yet you should be asking members of the local board or the organiser why you’ve been excluded. Better still why not turn up on the day and go aboard, if you can stomach the propaganda.
After all, you’ve paid for it.
