The Daily Telegraph is running a series on Britain’s ‘Crap’ Towns in the Travel section of all places.
One comment struck me as particularly true – “The one thing that seems to be universally agreed is that 'planned' towns are almost always grim and dismal places. Those that happen by chance are generally not.” Agreed!
I scrolled through the picks, readers picks and comments and was truly astonished not to see my birthplace feature AT ALL.
The east end of Manchester is classed as the 11th most deprived area in Britain and is currently getting a make-over called the Urban Regeneration Scheme.
