Most off-island ratepayers think they are only entitled to vote in their main place of residence not realising that they can also cast a vote in another ward where they are also ratepayers.
This is especially significant for Waiheke where a large proportion of ratepayers (over 25%) remain disenfranchised. If you are one of them but want to have your say on the future of the island then there is still time. But first you must be registered to vote. Here’s how.
Election Services recommend that non-resident ratepayers either attend the Service Centre on Waiheke Island, or the main election Service Centre in Auckland Central to obtain the relevant voting document and cast their vote. Take some identification and your rates billing number if you have it handy (they can look it up for you if you don't)

2) Waiheke Election Service Centre

Once you have registered as a Non Resident Ratepayer you should automatically receive voting papers for future Waiheke (as well as your other Local Board area) Local Board elections.
It is too late to post for your vote, but you can drop it off before noon on Saturday at either the Waiheke Service Centre or Waiheke Library.
Your vote matters. Register NOW and vote.
