Once upon a time a Daddy Bear appeared in a garden on Makora Ave. He sat there on his own under a tree for about a year.
His parents protected him from the rain by putting an umbrella over his head and a red Sou’wester around his body. He was happy, but he was lonely.
Then one day Mummy Bear arrived. They huddled together for warmth and shelter. They were happy for a long time, but something was missing.
This week they were blessed with the arrival of a whole family of baby bears. Their playroom is a dinghy in the garden.
Today they were all out in the sun enjoying a picnic.
Tomorrow they are planning to go for a sail.
What a perfect Waiheke family they make.
